Outreach in MECC knows no bounds: we will engage high school students in innovative and entrepreneurial endeavors in marine technologies; we will delight K-8 aspiring enthusiasts with the wonders and potential of marine environments; and we will inspire community college students to join the blue workforce. Training and engagement venues for pre-college students and the broader community will leverage the multitude of summer camps and experiential learning opportunities and the new UH Extend programs for unconventional learners.
The C-Coogs competed in the Student Research Poster Competition at the 4th Annual Port of the Future Conference held in Houston, TX from April 4-6, 2023. The team won first place for their poster and design in the Decarbonization and Alternative Fuels category. View the photos >>>
The C-Coogs participated in the Marine Energy and Hydropower Student Innovation Pitch Competition hosted by the Engineering Student Innovation and Design Experience (ESIDE) program in the Cullen College of Engineering. The C-Coogs participated in the NAE Grand Challenges Scholars Summit hosted by the Grand Challenges Scholars Program, Honors Engineering Program, and Engineering Student Innovation and Design Experience (ESIDE) program. The team won the Audience Choice Award at this summit. View the photos >>>

They received a total of 180 votes for their Word Cloud with the top 5 most used words related to marine energy: water, renewable, sustainable, unlimited, and future. Their data indicates a strong support for marine energy.
